At the request of Lady Harcourt, Charlie and Lincoln begin searching for her missing stepson. Still recovering from her ordeal at the hands of a diabolical villain, Charlie is supposed to be resting. But resting is dull, so she throws herself into the task at hand, much to Lincoln's frustration.
The search leads them down a dark path littered with family secrets and titillating scandal. Using her necromancy to expose those secrets, Charlie unwittingly raises a spirit with the power to override her control. With a dead body on the loose in London, Charlie and Lincoln must work together to send it back before havoc is unleashed and the committee members find out.

Loved the 1st two books, but I am only part way into this one, and I need to put it down. I realize that Charlie is 18 to Lincoln's 30, but I can not get over how possessive and hypochondriac she is. Yes, she can be helpful, but she has to know where he is, and gets upset when he won't tell her. Her actions are so similar to Lady Harcourt, who it seems to be set up as someone us readers are to scorn. I can't tell yet if this part of her growing up process, or not. Lincoln is trying to act like an adult, and is right to be cautious.Product details

Deeper and deeper we go, finding out more about Charlie’s magic, Lincoln’s weirdness, scandal of the other characters and the nastiness of the Committee. I like the way in which she is using and developing her necromancy, and the unexpected twists that arise from that. I am liking her quirky characters more and more, especially Lincoln. Great series!!
Lincoln's character is finally more developed, although he's still mysterious. Charlie is slowing breaking him down and his reserve is crumbling. I can't wait to read book four.
When it comes to the supernatural Charlie is able to use more of her gift with surprising results. Finding Lady Harcourt's nephew reveals unexpected secrets and I was really stumped about who was responsible until the end.
This serious and it's characters have me totally engrossed. Can't wait to read the next one and have already purchase it and will start immediately. Charlie, Lincoln, Seth and Gus have become dear characters to me. The beautiful Julia is becoming more and more jealous as things heat up between Charlie and Lincoln. What twists and turns are coming next in this highly engrossing series.
I love the premise of this story, but it seems so repetitive...girl wants boy, boy canʻt want girl but does anyway, boy acts like a jerk and gets forgiven by girl because sheʻs so into him, boy tells girl not to do something but she does it anyway and he rescues her. While I like her overall writing style, the back and forth of the two main characters gets tiresome. I love all the supporting characters and hope to learn more about them if I decide to read further on in the series.
Seemed short, but maybe that was because I devoured it in record time, as it was the usual length - 263 pages. It moves very quickly, which is great - no fillers to stretch the story, and it didn't need any.
The characters are still intriguing, and this one concentrates on the tension between Charlie and Lincoln; you will find yourself wondering what Lincoln, the hero, is thinking, and I'm so glad the author doesn't give it all away. The hints at his thoughts and humor from Charlie's point of view are always amusing and interesting, and they create empathy for Charlie while she tries to figure out what he feels, if anything, and what he will do next.
The next book, Grave Expectations
I don't want to put in any spoilers, but it looks like Charlie will finally get out of London for more than a day. I'm looking forward to her reactions to so many new experiences.
Start with the first book in the Ministries for Curiosity series. This isn't the type of series in which you can just jump in anywhere, but it's worth the price of the series. The first book is much better than the next two, and a good setup for the next two books. They move very quickly, and if you like these characters try Lindsay Buroker's "Emperor's Edge" series. The price is better and the main characters are similar to this group, but it has a steampunk/sci fi theme.
Ministry of Curiosities (Book 3) great book/series. The characters are so real you get taken in with them. Charlie is a great young lady very out there for the time period. Lincoln is frustrating but again mastered into a great character, Seth, Gus and Cook great characters.
These books are well written, not hard going. Nice and easy to read I am progressing through the Series. I have made a lot of other books that this wonderful author has written. All her characters and strong personalities. Story lines are good as well. You spend most of your time trying to work it all out before the end.. Some cases you get it right in others nope didn't quite get it. Great read people. Enjoy.. it..
This book was a surprise written from the point of view of a young woman hiding out on the streets of 18-Century England and seeing how the impoverished are treated. She disguises herself as a boy to keep from being rapped. It works until Lincoln Fitzroy finds her and forces her to submit to living in his home. Slowly she warms to the idea as he continues to look for the young woman Necromancer until that day he figures out that he is a she. Now she must come out and be the female she always wanted to be but didn't for fear of her own safety. Dispite her fear she is developing feeling for this tall dark stranger who never shows his emotions. In an effort to prove her worth she does the unthinkable in 18-Century London and becomes the maid. Much of the arstocricy can't fathom why she would do this since they believe working is beneath them. You can't help but admire her moral streangth and courage as she is even willing to stand up the the indominable Mr. Fitzroy when she believes she is right.
